Where can I find a class?

The Bosco Gymnasium is located at 6770-129 Avenue in Edmonton and is easily accessible from Yellowhead Trail and Wayne Gretzky Drive. The main entrance of the building faces south on 129 Avenue, but you will find the entrance to the gym located on the NORTH side of the building, next to the parking lot.

When are classes held?

Check out our Hooping Basics and Beyond the Basics classes for more information on dates and times.

How do I register for a hoop class?

You can either register using Paypal through the website, or email us through the contact page to make arrangements to pay in person on or before the first day of class.

Do I need to bring a hoop?

Don’t worry if you don’t have your own hoop! Practice hoops are provided for use in class, and are available for sale as well.

I’ve never hooped before. What if everybody else is way better than I am?

Hoop class is a judgement-free zone. We’re all here to have fun, and we’re all too busy getting sweaty and having a blast to worry about what the hooper next to us is doing. Come and see for yourself!

What should I wear?

Wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting sweaty in! Natural fibers are best – slippery synthetics can make it difficult for the hoop to “grip” your body. Footwear ranges from socks to gymnastics slippers to sneakers – whatever your preference is fine as long as they’re clean.

We offer classes for the total beginner to the experienced hooper seeking to expand their personal practice.

Currently, we offer two different class “levels” – Hooping Basics is geared towards the total beginner or the hooper looking to brush up on the fundamentals of on-body and off-body hooping. Beyond the Basics is our intermediate to advanced level class, with an emphasis on more advanced moves such as shoulder hooping, isolations, body rolls and more. If you’re not sure which class to take, send us an email through the contact page and we can talk about which class will be the right fit based on your current skill and what you hope to get out of the class.
