Flow is the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity.
I like to refer to Flow as the Holy Grail of hoopdance. Finding flow in your hoopdance is an incredibly gratifying experience, and many of us aspire to find ways to get into that flow state faster, deeper, and with more freedom of movement and creativity as our hoop journey progresses.
Through movement meditation and specially chosen music we will explore the conceptual side of flow, increasing our creative self expression and immersion into the “feeling” side of our hooping. We will also develop our technique and repertoire with a number of flow-friendly transitional moves (including a range of variations to challenge all levels in the class).
This multilevel workshop is recommended for hoopers with a minimum of a good waist hooping foundation (including the ability to walk, turn, and move with the hoop at the waist) up to and including all advanced hoopers.
Please bring a blindfold to class, and it is suggested that hoopers bring two hoops – one larger for on-body hooping, and one smaller for off-body moves. Extra hoops will be available for use in class.
